As I reflect on my life and the legacy I want to leave behind, I’m constantly thinking about my family, my business, and the journey we’re on.
For me, building a legacy is not just about what I achieve in my career or how successful my business becomes—it's about how I raise my children, the real-world lessons I instill in them, and the path we’re paving as a family to break generational curses. I want to be remembered for creating something bigger than myself, something that extends to my children and beyond.
1. Running a Business and Homeschooling with Purpose
When I think about the kind of legacy I want to build, it starts with how I run my business while homeschooling my children. It’s not easy, but it’s incredibly fulfilling. I want my kids to learn more than just academics—I want them to see the hard work, the discipline, and the passion that goes into building something from the ground up.
I want them to understand that success doesn’t come overnight and that mistakes are part of the journey. Teaching them real-world knowledge through our daily life experiences, including running a business, helps them see that anything is possible with focus and determination.
2. Breaking Generational Curses
For us, breaking generational curses is about rewriting the narrative. We’re the first in our family to do many things—whether it’s entrepreneurship, homeschooling, or living with the kind of freedom that allows us to dream and explore. We’ve made mistakes along the way, and I know we’ll make more, but that’s part of going first. I want my children to grow up understanding that our journey isn’t about perfection—it’s about growth, resilience, and the courage to carve out a different path for ourselves. By doing things differently, we’re breaking the cycles of struggle and limitation that held previous generations back.
3. Creating a Vision of Freedom and Exploration
One of the most important parts of our legacy is creating a life where we can travel, explore, and give our children experiences that broaden their worldview. I don’t just want to build a business—I want to create freedom. The freedom to travel as a family, to learn through experience, and to show my kids that the world is so much bigger than our current surroundings. This freedom isn’t just for us—it’s about showing future generations that they don’t have to stay stuck in one place, physically or mentally. They can dream bigger, live freer, and pass that vision down.
4. Embracing the Challenge of Going First
Being the first to do something in your family comes with challenges, but it’s also a beautiful responsibility. I remind myself often that we’re creating a new path—one that hasn’t been walked before. Mistakes are inevitable, but they’re also how we learn, grow, and evolve. I embrace the fact that we’ll stumble along the way, but I also know that every step forward is breaking new ground for the generations to come. My legacy isn’t about perfection—it’s about being brave enough to go first and showing my kids that it’s okay to learn as you go.
5. Focusing on Family, Freedom, and Faith
At the heart of everything I do, whether it’s running my business or homeschooling my children, are my core values of family, freedom, and faith. I want to be remembered for how I showed up for my family, for how I created freedom through entrepreneurship, and for how my faith guided me through it all. These are the values I want to pass down to my children and the generations that come after them.
In the end, my legacy is about more than just success or accomplishments—it’s about the lessons I teach my children, the values I instill in them, and the courage to break the cycles of the past. I hope that when my children look back, they remember a mom who worked hard, dreamed big, and loved deeply, all while forging a new path for our family’s future. This is the legacy I’m building, one step at a time.
