As a postpartum wellness coach and mom, I know firsthand how the transition into motherhood can be overwhelming. Recently, I had the opportunity to be a guest on the Motherhood Makeup Mindset podcast, where I discussed mom guilt and how we often allow it to hold us back from achieving our goals. It’s a common feeling we face as moms—worrying whether we’re doing enough for our children while struggling to carve out time for ourselves.
During the podcast, we dove into the puzzle of guilt, particularly the subtle but powerful messages we get from the world around us. I shared a personal moment that reflects how society tends to focus more on the chaos we experience as moms than the support we desperately need. There was a time when I rushed out the house, juggling a busy day, and my kids and I weren’t exactly picture-perfect. Instead of offering a helping hand, I was met with comments like, "Wow, you’ve got your hands full!"—statements that only magnify the pressure.
It made me reflect on how those small moments shape our experience of motherhood. In that moment, instead of judgment, I needed someone to say, "How can I help?"—to see me beyond the outward chaos and understand the incredible strength it takes to show up every day.

We also spoke about how important it is for us moms to connect with one another in those fleeting moments. I’ll never forget one day in a store when I saw woman trying to shop and her kids in the cart with a newborn in her carrier. I didn’t make a comment about how much she had on her plate. Instead, I looked at her, smiled, and it was a known "I see you."
That tiny gesture meant everything to her. It reminded me that we’re all in this together, and we need more of that encouragement to lift each other up.
Motherhood is a marathon, not a sprint. We’re balancing our own wellness with the demands of our families, and it's crucial not to let guilt overshadow the immense value of showing up for ourselves. When we take care of our own mental and physical health, we’re not only better moms but also better partners, friends, and individuals.
One of the key takeaways I shared on the podcast is that we don’t have to do it all alone. Building a support system, whether through a community of moms, friends, or wellness resources, is essential. This is why I’ve built my Nurturing The Mama Membership—a space for moms to come together, share experiences, and get the support they need to thrive.
If you’re navigating postpartum life and wrestling with feelings of guilt, know that you are not alone. Start Releasing Guilt and Embracing Support. Small moments of grace from others—and from yourself—can make all the difference. Let’s shift the narrative from judgment to support, from guilt to grace, and from surviving to thriving. You’ve got this, mama, and we see you.
